Series 3 Episode 4 (JTR=1) (the brief brief summary - longer version to come) Robert and Christine greet each other as 'fellow consultant'. Roberts tells Christine that Louise won't be coming back and he has the job of breaking the news to Stuart. As she leaves Christine asks Robert if he has read his email. He has, but didn't like it. Robert informs Cathy that Jack Turner has been appointed clinical director. Christine drags Kate into her office and tells her that every medical procedure she carries out in the future must be entered in a log book and signed off by a consultant. Kate is not happy and asks if she can appeal to Robert. Sara Salter, a twelve year-old girl, has been shot while sitting in the lounge room of her home, a victim of drive-by shooting. She is accompanied by her agitated father, Ian, who is slightly wounded. It's David Scobie's first day as Jack's new SHO. Jack offers David Sara's fasciotomy. Robert congratulates Jack on his new appointment. In the waiting room, Steve Moore sits muttering to himself. "Business as usual, is it. It's like nothing ever happened." Sitting with his daughter, waiting for theatre, Ian reminds Sara to 'keep shtum'. Steve Moore walks into Christine's office. He is upset over the death of his partner, Debbie, and asks Christine where Mr Turner is. Out in the corridor, Steve attacks a water cooler. A cleaner, trying to get her mop to clean up the spilt water, finds Ian Salter locked in the utility room. He has been injecting drugs. Mike is back at St Victor's. Everyone seems pleased to see him except for his lover, Cathy. Cathy tells Mike she wants to finish their relationship. Jack preps David for the operation to release Sara's calf muscles and talks him through the procedure. Raz notices a rise in Sara's blood pressure and temperature and realises the girl is having an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic. Raz and Jack are unable to resuscitate Sara. Steve Moore is wandering the corridors once again and runs to catch up with Jack as he enters the lift. Robert and Cathy sit on a bench outside A&E discussing Mike's return. Robert comforts Cathy once again as Mike watches on from across the ambulance bay. Jack has a meeting with both Robert and Christine but Robert is waylaid by a policeman. Jack wagers Christine a Mars Bar that Robert won't turn up at all. Jack tells Christine how he likes to plan, even 'to scheme' but thinks Robert doesn't like to do the same. Mike confronts Robert about Cathy. Robert finally joins Christine and Jack. Jack mutters to Christine that he owes her dinner. Christine corrects him, "I believe the bet was a Mars Bar." Ian is found in the washroom. He has been stabbed. Credits: Written by: Stephen Butchard Produced by: Pamela Wilson Directed by: Peter Smith Granada 2001 Robert Kingsford ...
