Episode 6 (JTR=3) (the brief brief summary - longer version to come)

Andrew Argyle is on ambulance duty, a new initiative of Jack Turner's to improve relations between the services. The ambulance is called to a cemetery where a young boy is found unconscious after inhaling solvent.

Staff in A&E are filling in a quiet moment with wheelchair races.

Kate attends to the young boy, Mark, successfully unblocking his airway under the watchful eye of Robert.

At Sam's place, a bare-chested Mike is waiting for Sam to get out of her bathroom.

Back in the ambulance that evening, Andrew and paramedics Tricia and Brian, are sent on a job. A man guides them into a warehouse area where a large lorry is parked. Another man arrives and is furious that Gary, the lorry driver, has called the ambulance. Inside the lorry, twelve people are trapped and injured after the load had moved but Pete, the second man, sends Gary to lock the doors to the warehouse. With Pete now wielding a pistol, Andrew, Tricia and Brian are forced to do the best they can with the limited resources stored in the ambulance.

After making a lunge at Pete with a baseball bat, Brian is shot in the thigh. With Brian rapidly losing blood, Andrew convinces Pete to allow him to phone a surgeon to come in and help.

Jack receives a phonecall from Andrew just after he has organised to take Christine away for the weekend. Andrew asks Jack to meet him at an address on Byers street, but to come alone. Jack, not being allowed to drive, flags a lift from Sam who has just dropped Mike off at A&E.

Both Sam and Jack become embroiled with the people-smugglers, and work ceaselessly with Tricia and Andrew to save Brian and the injured immigrants.

Andrew is distraught over the death of a young woman, Mya.

Gary has finally had enough and whacks Pete over the head with a piece of metal.
